School and Poker

Well, I'm 5 weeks in on classes 13 and 14.  Midterms are this week, and I'm currently getting an A in each class, although neither class has had much as far as assignments or grades until now.  After this quarter, I have 12 classes left, and I'm debating about enrolling full-time for the last quarter once I get to that point.  For one, it would save a little money.  Also, the commencement ceremony occurs after the spring quarter, and right now if I keep going part-time I would finish in the summer quarter.  I'm not sure yet, and I have some time to decide....Plus, the classes I have left at that point will help with my decision.  Otherwise, I'm still doing great and enjoying the overall school experience, although I must admit that I'm a little apprehensive about entering the job market.  Every time I look, I always see that little phrase: "Experience wanted."  How do I get said experience if I can't get a job without it??  Anyhow, I'll deal with that when I get to that point.

Speaking of work.....work sucks.  I hate holidays.  The stores are busier, people are not often in good moods, and I have more product to deal with due to the anticipated increase in sales.  Add in a new sales guy, and it makes things even worse.  I'll get through, and survive, but I'm really getting to be too old for this....I should have went back to school years ago!!

So, Thursday night it was back to the local amvets for poker.  They will be closing as of New Year's Eve, so the game will be moving to the Eagles club.  After a short absense due to my vacation, and working an extra day last week, I made a triumphant return and chopped first place.....Really, after going 3-for-3 in tourney cashes in Vegas, was there ever really a doubt?  lol  Cash games are still a bit of a rut tho, and I am running out of time and money to play much at the local casino, so it may just be the tournament at the Eagles club for awhile.  After tracking my wins/losses since mid-June, I am up a little over $1K for the year there.  Not bad for a weekly $20 buy-in tournament and dl\ollar-dealer cash game.

That's all for now.....until next time.....
