Prop bets for the big game...

Last year, I was in Vegas for the Super Bowl.  Talk about fun and exciting!!  My prop bet post from last year can be found here.  My trip reports can be found here and here.  I ended up ahead for all of my wagers, prop bets and game bets, combined.  It wasn't a huge win, but profit is profit.

This year I will be watching from home.  No huge investment in prop bets in Vegas.  However, I did take the time to use some of my current funds on Bovada to invest in some prop bets there.  I know a lot 1 or 2 of my readers like to see this, so I've decided to post a total number of props wagered, as well as pick some of my favorites.

Note:  Please do not bet any of these based on what you read.  I hold no responsibility if you should do so, and do not endorse actually placing any of these wagers.

I currently have 96 prop bet wagers, which includes those with multiple wagers on the same outcome, such as 1st td scorer, MVP, and players to score a td at any point in the game.  Thanks to Bovada offering minimum wagers as low as $0.50, I was able to get a little wild...lol

Some of my favorite prop bet wagers include:

Coin toss:  Heads again!!

National Anthem under 2min 20sec

MVP:  Cam Newton & Peyton Manning

Defense or Special Teams TD yes

Anytime TD scorer:  Newton/Olsen/Cotchery

Newton 50+ rushing yards

Manning over 21.5 completions

Total sacks by Carolina over 2.5

Team to challenge a play first Panthers

Total tackles and assists for Luke Kuechly over 8.5

Total punts in the game under 10.5

Total first downs by Denver under 19.5

And for pure entertainment only....

How many wings will Buffalo Wild Wings sell on Super Bowl Sunday?  Over 12 million

I've also decided on my game and total wagers.  I like Carolina -6 and over 45.5.

Good luck with any wagers you may have, and enjoy the game!!

  1. People love prop bets. At a Super Bowl party one year, when the players were running out on the field, the camera man got too close and a player screamed, "Get the f**k out of the way." The odds makers who make up the prop bets forgot to have one as to who will be the first to use the F-word on TV.
