Catching up....again!

Well, between work and school, and other things going on, I haven't been able to keep up with my blog as I had hoped.  Therefore, I'm not going to attempt to do so.  I will post what I can, when I can, and tweet it and put it on facebook for anyone who wishes to read.

Since the first of the year, work has been slow.  This is a slow time for the beverage industry.  Sure, there were football playoffs and the big game, which help a little, but most people are recovering from holiday spending, and waiting fr tax return money.  February isn't a much better, and March only has the NCAA tournament, which still isn't a large draw, until Easter at the end of the month.  They usually have a small puch for Daytona and Nascar, but it doesn't do much other than get us into ads and a little better pricing.

School is still going quite well.  I should end upw tih 2 more A's in my 2 classes, giving me 12 A's and 2 B's so far, with 12 classes remaining until I receive my Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  This is technically finals week, altho the final for each class was posted last week.  I took one already, and will take the other one tomorrow after work.

I had a minor incident with my car, a tire blowout while going 70 on the interestate on the way to work, which spun me out of control, ending with the car hitting a guardrail and leaving a little paint on it.  Of course, this happened at 5:30am on the coldest day of the year to date.  I had to get a new rim along with the tire.  I have never been so scared in my life, and I'll be 35 in June.  I have never not had control of my car, and it's honestly as close as I've come to having my life flash before my eyes.  Hopefully I never experience anything like that again.

My wife and I have plans for 2 small vacations this year.  Th weekend of Easter we'll be going up to see her parents, sister, and nephew.  It's a little over 6 hours away, and we don't see them often, so I'm excited to go visit, and I know my wife is as well.  Then, in June, we're going up to Chicago.  I can't recall a time when the Cubs were at home for a game on my birthday, as it seems they were always on a West coast trip.  This year, they have a 3 game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and we're going to all 3 games!  It should be a good time, and I'm hoping for at least 1 win, in addition to seeing 3 different starting pitchers.  I know we'll be in the bleachers for at least 2 games.  The third game is a night game, and in early June it may still be a bit cool, so I'm not sure yet what the plan is for that game.

Little if any poker has been played with the exception of the Thursday night game, which has been moved from the Amvets to the Eagles club.  Nothing significant to report from there.

Until next time, stay safe, good luck, and run good at the poker tables!!!
