So, I'm long overdue for an update, and realized I have a few minutes to try to type up a small little update.
School: School is going well. I have finished my 2nd quarter(Midstate College in Peoria,IL, where I attend, has classes in quarters, so you can fit 4 sessions in a year, and get done sooner) and I have finished 6 of the 26 classes needed for my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I got 3 A's and a B the first quarter, and believe I will get 2 B's this quarter. I am off this week and start right back up next week with 2 more classes. At this rate(part-time student) I will finish in August 2014.
Work is typical. I work for Coca-Cola Refreshments as a merchandiser. Recently, I have been working with the sales department so I can fill in if necessary, due to people needing time off for personal reasons.(one guy's wife has cancer and he needs time to be with her for dr. appts, treatments, etc., and a woman is pregnant and I will be covering her route while she's on maternity leave.)
Job #2 is a boring part-time job at a convenience/liquor store 2 nights a week. It's slow, most of the sales come from lottery tickets, and since I work Sunday/Monday evenings, there aren't a lot drunks that come in, which is disappointing because they are entertaining to say the least. Hopefully once my car is paid off this summer, I can save a little money by not having a car payment and give up this job. For now tho, it helps give me a little extra spending money each week.
Personal life is good, marriage is still going strong, and our 2 cats are amusing and fun to play with. Haven't had much time or money for poker, although I play in a small weekly tournament at the local amvets. We are adding in an extra $5 per person per week for a large tournament the week before Thanksgiving. The requirement is 30 weeks played, and with roughly 10-15 people getting involved, that's $1500-$2250 extra right before Christmas. The normal buy-in is $20 for 10K in chips, with 20 minute levels and 50-100 starting levels, which allows for a decent amount of play before getting short-stacked.
Ok, so there's a small update, please feel free to comment and let me know if there's something you're specifically interested in or want to know more about!!
