Week 12 picks

Well, last week was a great one!  3-0 for the first time, including my cowboys winning and covering!!  New record is now 8-17-2.  These picks are rushed due to Thanksgiving today.  No major plans myself, as we did the family thing with my mom last night, but we are having lunch with some friends.

Now, for the games.  This is the hardest week yet.  Carolina is on a roll, undefeated, balancing their offense with a great defense.  Dallas, having gotten Romo back, needs a good run, probably 5-1 minimum, over the last 6 to even sniff a chance at winning the division and a playoff spot.  As it stands, Dallas is getting a point.  At first I thought Carolina was the obvious choice, but now I'm questioning myself.  Romo plays well in November, especially Thanksgiving Day, they have momentum, and they've faced this type of team (Seattle is similar) and fared well.  All things considered, I'm changing my original thought and going with Dallas +1.

I do think it will be a defensive battle, but they will squeak out enough point to just go over 45 points.  I'm thinking 27-24, something like that.

For my 3rd pick I'm taking Chicago +9.  The Bears are improved, and should be able to keep this game close.  They managed to nearly beat a Denver team that, while depleted on offense, is one of the best defensive teams in the league.  They hang with Green Bay tonight and lose by 7 or less.

In summary:

Dallas +1
Over 45
Chicago +9

Good luck and remember, this is all for fun, not for real!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

  1. Ummm ... you missed the big prop bet: Will Favre unretire at the game? If he does, bet the farm on his retiring again before the game is over.
