Well, the home poker game I play in is having another points tournament. This will be the first time I've played in it due to scheduling issues the previous times it has been held. I don't know all of the details, as far as payouts and point structure, but I'll provide the details that I know in case anyone is interested.
It runs for 10 weeks. There will be somewhere between 20-25 participants. It's a $30 buy-in, with $10 going to the prize pool for the end of the tournament and $20 to the nightly prize pool. There is also an optional $5 high-hand of the night and a mandatory $5 bounty chip requirement.
Tournament structure:
Starting chip stack is T25,000. Levels are 12 minutes, with blinds starting at T100-T200. Play continues for about 3 hours, minus breaks to color up chips. At the end of the time, players with chips remaining count their chips to determine 1st place down for the evening. I don't know what the points scored per finish is yet.
The location runs games 3-4 nights a week, and I have played once a week with most of the players for a year or so now. This style of tournament series will be different for me, and will likely require a change from my normal style of aggressive play. It runs on Tuesday nights starting Feb. 18, and I will try to provide updates.
